Summary of Responsibilities

  • Formulate Treaty Section work programme and allocate resources
  • Manage Section administration, budgets and staff performance
  • Supervise treaty-law research, legal advice and final-clause drafting
  • Direct treaty registration and depositary functions
  • Promote multilateral treaty participation and organize treaty events
  • Oversee treaty data processing, publications and capacity development

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in law with public-international-law training
  • Ten years of progressively responsible public international law experience
  • Managerial experience in a multicultural international organization or government
  • English fluency

Desired Criteria

  • Treaty-law specialty
  • Innovation, behavioral-science or strategic-foresight experience
  • French fluency
