Job Description

Manages epidemiological and response data for cholera and other epidemic-prone diseases in Tanganyika, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The consultancy strengthens collection, validation, analysis and circulation of surveillance information; supports health workers and dashboards; and provides timely analytical products, situation reports and data-quality controls to guide emergency response decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Improve real-time data management for cholera and epidemic-prone disease response
  • Inventory data-collection tools for surveillance, laboratories, contacts and response pillars
  • Train health providers and focal points in data collection and management
  • Maintain and share alert, IDSR, case, contact and other surveillance databases
  • Clean and validate integrated data systems and update response dashboards
  • Support epidemiologists with analysis of epidemiological, geospatial and field data
  • Produce situation reports, bulletins and information products for response advocacy
  • Present activities, challenges and solutions in coordination and surveillance meetings

Role Requirements

  • University degree in information or data management, computing, statistics, applied mathematics, public health, GIS or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years of relevant data and/or information-management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of French

Desired Criteria

  • Certified training in epidemiological surveillance
  • Public-health degree
  • Working knowledge of English
