Responsibilities

  • Implement data strategy and architecture for the individual-giving ecosystem
  • Design warehouse schemas, data models and structured data layers
  • Build scalable ELT pipelines across fundraising, CRM, payment and marketing systems
  • Integrate agency feeds, vendor platforms and new acquisition channels
  • Implement freshness, completeness, consistency and anomaly monitoring
  • Resolve root causes of warehouse issues and build resilient self-healing pipelines
  • Maintain data lineage, dictionaries and privacy-compliant handling practices
  • Provide reliable datasets and reusable structures for reporting and analytics
  • Create testing environments that validate data flows across operational systems
  • Translate fundraising requirements into technical specifications and mentor colleagues

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, data science, statistics, information systems or a related technical field
  • Four to five years of data-engineering, data-platform or analytics-engineering experience
  • Production experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT workflows
  • Experience designing multi-system integrations through APIs, middleware, managed services or bespoke engineering
  • Strong SQL proficiency and Python or similar scripting experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Redshift and AWS services
  • Understanding of data modelling, governance and quality management
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Additional info

  • Fully remote 11-month regular consultancy with Rome as the administrative duty station. The role reports to the Head of Individual Giving Technology and Operations.
