Job Description
Leads the design, piloting and validation of a self-applied rubric that helps education stakeholders identify bias, stereotypes and symbolic violence in learning materials across Latin America and the Caribbean. The consultancy combines evidence review, participatory validation and capacity-building to produce a practical methodology, workshops and publication-ready outputs.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate methodology development and delivery of five consultancy phases with UNESCO's governance committee
- Review international evidence and conceptual frameworks on violence and bias in educational materials
- Map national and regional experiences identifying bias and stereotypes
- Design and validate a self-applied rubric with dimensions, indicators and practical examples
- Pilot, refine and technically validate the methodology with diverse stakeholders
- Prepare the final methodological tool, workshop design and publication-ready outputs
Role Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in education, social sciences, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, human rights, intercultural education or a related field
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in education, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean
- Demonstrated experience analysing educational materials, textbooks or curricular resources through equity, inclusion, gender or intercultural perspectives
- Demonstrated experience designing methodological tools for analysis or evaluation
- Spanish proficiency

- Doctorate in a relevant field
- Previous publications or research on educational-material analysis, bias, stereotypes or curriculum representation
- Previous collaboration with UNESCO or other UN-system agencies
- Experience in editorial processes and publication production
- Knowledge of English
