Consultant on FGM evidence-based advocacy and accountability

Leads a home-based UNFPA consultancy that translates FGM/C research, data and legal-policy analysis into actionable advocacy across Asia. The consultant will strengthen the Regional Accountability Framework, map civil-society actors, develop tracking tools and policy products, convene regional learning forums, and support evidence-based movement building with strategic partners.

• Map civil-society organisations working on FGM/C across the region
• Support geo-visualisation linked to the Regional Accountability Framework
• Develop tools to track institutional commitments, human-rights reporting and legal compliance
• Coordinate strategic dialogues, webinars and peer-learning workshops
• Synthesize regional research, datasets and studies on FGM/C
• Draft advocacy briefs, technical notes and policy messages for decision-makers
• Support advocacy events with evidence, presentations and agenda materials

• Advanced university degree in Public Health, Human Rights, International Relations, Gender Studies, Social Sciences or a related field
• Strong drafting and written and oral English skills

• Experience researching or advocating on FGM, GBV or harmful practices is desirable
• Experience with UN system operations, gender programming or DFAT-funded projects is desirable
