Consultant Expert in Environmental or Forestry Project EvaluationNew

Leads a UNODC evaluation of an environmental or forestry project, designing methods, directing data collection and analysis, and producing reports in Spanish and English. The consultant coordinates experts and stakeholders, applies UN evaluation standards and ethical requirements, and delivers findings, conclusions and recommendations on gender equality, human rights and project performance.

• Develop gender-responsive and inclusive evaluation methods, tools and techniques
• Coordinate data collection using approved instruments and methods
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis and give IES access to original data
• Ensure compliance with UNEG norms, UNODC standards, guidelines and evaluation terms of reference
• Lead the independent evaluation team and quality-assure deliverables
• Coordinate substantive experts and obtain written inputs and revisions for deliverables

• Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, Forestry Studies, Environmental Studies or a related field
• At least five years of professional evaluation experience, including international-level evaluations
• Experience evaluating environmental projects, forestry initiatives, environmental management or environmental law technical-assistance programmes in the Peruvian Amazon basin or similar contexts
• Experience coordinating teams
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish

• Knowledge and experience within the UN system, particularly UNODC
• Experience with gender-responsive evaluation methodologies and analysis
• Understanding of human rights, disability inclusion and ethical issues in evaluation
• Knowledge of another official United Nations language
