Job Description

Reviews how artificial intelligence and digital technologies can strengthen prevention of female genital mutilation and child marriage while protecting child rights. The consultant will assess technology-enabled approaches for service delivery, case management and data use, identify promising solutions and safeguards, and turn research and stakeholder evidence into practical recommendations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assess and refine technology-enabled approaches for service delivery, case management, data use and decision-making in FGM and child-marriage prevention
  • Identify opportunities to apply emerging AI solutions while upholding child rights, inclusion, gender equality and harm-mitigation principles
  • Review and map AI-enabled, mobile, data-driven and technology-supported interventions
  • Conduct desk reviews, stakeholder consultations, key-informant interviews and research synthesis
  • Identify gaps, promising practices and opportunities and translate evidence into practical recommendations, frameworks and knowledge products

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Social and Behaviour Change, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, International Development, Law, Gender Studies, Research Methods, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in digital innovation, technology for development, research, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields
  • Experience related to FGM prevention and response, harmful practices, gender-based violence, violence against women and girls, child protection, sexual and reproductive health, or related issues
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • French fluency
  • Experience working with UNICEF, UN agencies, governments or international development organizations
