Job Description
This UN Volunteer Specialist advances UNICEF Bhutan’s responsible digital transformation for children and adolescents. Based in Thimphu, the role maps emerging technologies, supports safe AI and data-informed programmes, strengthens cybersecurity and child online protection, develops guidance and training, and coordinates partners on digital literacy, innovation and risk mitigation.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Map and analyse emerging technology trends relevant to UNICEF Bhutan
- Develop guidance, reports and training materials on AI, cybersecurity and child online safety
- Support safe and child-responsive use of AI and data-informed programme tools
- Document results, challenges and lessons from technology initiatives
- Design training to prevent and respond to child online harm
- Coordinate government, schools, civil society and private-sector partners
Role Requirements
- Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity, Data Security, Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, or a related field
- Cybersecurity, digital safety, information security, data protection, or related digital risk management work
- Required: English
Desired Criteria
- Experience working on child online safety or safeguarding sensitive data
- Experience with government, development partners, schools or civil-society initiatives
