Summary of Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with government, development, private-sector, media, academic, youth and civil-society stakeholders
  • Develop stakeholder networks and advise country teams on engagement approaches
  • Create communications strategies, results stories and thought-leadership products for the Mauritania programme
  • Plan country campaigns and communications for major project and knowledge launches
  • Draft press releases, speeches, talking points and social-media content
  • Monitor political and media developments and recommend responses to reputational risks
  • Coordinate communications across World Bank Group institutions and regional networks
  • Champion data-driven digital storytelling and influencer engagement

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree with five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in an international environment with knowledge of development-related political and economic issues
  • Knowledge of Mauritanian government, public institutions, private sector, civil society and other country stakeholders
  • Experience managing reputational risks, messaging, stakeholder engagement and media engagement
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French
