Job Description

Leads implementation of FAO China's communications strategy to strengthen the visibility of country programmes, partnerships and agrifood priorities. The specialist develops media and digital content, manages national social channels and media relationships, supports campaigns and training, and coordinates communications products and clearance with FAO's regional and headquarters communications teams.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement FAO China's communication strategy across country, regional and global priorities
  • Build strategic media partnerships and strengthen staff media-outreach capacity
  • Develop digital assets and manage FAO China social-media channels
  • Coordinate video scripts, formats and clearances with regional and headquarters communications teams
  • Prepare and disseminate press releases and social-media posts on FAO China projects
  • Strengthen media relations, facilitate interviews and maintain the national media database
  • Monitor FAO media coverage and report to the FAO Representative and regional communications officer
  • Train staff and project offices on communications and support DPR Korea communication materials

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, television production or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in communication, journalism, media engagement, public relations or related fields
  • Working knowledge of English and Chinese
  • Chinese nationality or residence in China with a valid work permit

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with FAO policies and programmes
  • Experience in international and national work environments
