Job Description

Leads high-impact communications for UNHCR China's private-sector partnerships work, translating humanitarian issues into audience-centred stories and campaigns. The role shapes branding and digital outreach, produces and distributes media content, monitors trends and results, builds relationships with media, agencies and corporate partners, and uses communications insight to strengthen public engagement, fundraising and resource mobilization.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement communications strategies for country priorities and special projects
  • Monitor news and trends and identify opportunities for proactive messaging
  • Build content and promotion partnerships with media, businesses and civil society
  • Produce news, speeches, reports, multimedia stories and action-oriented campaigns
  • Plan distribution and place content across UNHCR and external channels
  • Research, edit and disseminate professional communications materials
  • Monitor project, media and social-performance results and adjust delivery
  • Support fundraising campaigns, partner engagement and communications advice for the PSP team

Role Requirements

  • Four years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, or two years with a bachelor's degree or higher
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Ability to translate complex humanitarian issues into compelling audience-centred narratives
  • Expertise in strategic communications, branding, storytelling and digital outreach
  • Ability to manage relationships with private-sector partners, media, agencies and internal teams
  • English and Chinese at overall B2 level or higher

Desired Criteria

  • Experience implementing communications strategies
  • Professional writing and editing experience
  • Experience working on advocacy campaigns
