Summary of Responsibilities
- Build relationships with government, development, private-sector, media, academic, youth and civil-society stakeholders
- Develop stakeholder networks and advise country teams on engagement approaches
- Create communications strategies, results stories and thought-leadership products for the Botswana and Lesotho programme
- Plan country campaigns and communications for major project and knowledge launches
- Draft press releases, speeches, talking points and social-media content
- Monitor political and media developments and recommend responses to reputational risks
- Coordinate communications across World Bank Group institutions and regional networks
- Champion data-driven digital storytelling and influencer engagement
Role Requirements
- Master's degree with five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in a relevant discipline
- Experience in an international environment with knowledge of development-related political and economic issues
- Knowledge of Botswana and Lesotho government, public institutions, private sector and civil-society stakeholders
- Experience managing reputational risks, messaging, stakeholder engagement and media engagement
- Excellent written and spoken English and Setswana
