Responsibilities

  • Develop an advocacy and communications strategy with UN communications partners
  • Build partnerships with United Nations and NGO communications teams
  • Prepare workplans and monitor the reach and impact of communications activities
  • Produce and edit current, focused content for the Special Representative's website
  • Draft speeches, talking points and public-information materials
  • Advise senior leadership on press briefings, conferences, interviews and outreach tools
  • Plan communications spending and supervise technical resources or consultants

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or a first degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least five years of progressively responsible communications or public-relations experience
  • Experience building and managing advocacy networks in multilateral settings
  • Experience translating political or conflict-related issues into public communications
  • Public and media-relations experience
  • English at UN Level III
