Responsibilities
- Develop an advocacy and communications strategy with UN communications partners
- Build partnerships with United Nations and NGO communications teams
- Prepare workplans and monitor the reach and impact of communications activities
- Produce and edit current, focused content for the Special Representative's website
- Draft speeches, talking points and public-information materials
- Advise senior leadership on press briefings, conferences, interviews and outreach tools
- Plan communications spending and supervise technical resources or consultants
Requirements
- Advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or a first degree with two additional years of experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible communications or public-relations experience
- Experience building and managing advocacy networks in multilateral settings
- Experience translating political or conflict-related issues into public communications
- Public and media-relations experience
- English at UN Level III
