Job Description
Leads the Transport Unit's fleet and asset-management services for United Nations-supported entities in Haiti. The role directs lifecycle planning, procurement support, resupply, budgets, compliance and staff performance, ensuring vehicles and equipment are available, safe, cost-effective and managed in line with UN operational requirements across field operations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage global assets and equipment support for United Nations-owned equipment serving UNSOH and BINUH
- Develop and manage the vehicle establishment, including acquisition, distribution, maintenance, utilisation and disposal of the fleet
- Implement asset acquisition, maintenance and lifecycle management plans that meet operational requirements
- Plan cost-effective asset and equipment resupply, including leasing, rental and outsourcing options
- Oversee inventory control, annual physical checks and the accuracy of equipment data in management information systems
- Manage the Unit budget, certifying-officer responsibilities and responses to audit observations
- Lead staff work planning, performance assessment, work allocation and training planning
- Oversee technical specifications, bid evaluations, supplier contracts and vendor performance
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in mechanical or automotive engineering, supply chain management, logistics, transportation management or a related field
- First-level university degree with relevant professional training and certification in surface transport operations plus two additional years of surface-transport experience may be accepted
- At least seven years of progressively responsible ground transport and vehicle fleet management experience, including one year in an international environment
- At least three years in a supervisory role coordinating and managing a complex vehicle fleet in a UN entity or similar international organisation
- Experience in procurement, contract management and performance monitoring for large-scale vehicle or fleet-management contracts
- Valid driver's licence
- Training in planning, coordinating and controlling large vehicle fleet operations
- English at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
Desired Criteria
- Experience sourcing, using and deploying Vehicle Tracking Systems
- Experience with data analysis and business intelligence reporting
