The World Bank seeks a senior logistics specialist in Washington, D.C. to lead its global logistics and supply-chain agenda. Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead the World Bank Group logistics and supply-chain development agenda
  • Develop policy, regulatory, institutional and investment frameworks for logistics performance
  • Support regional teams with technical advice across project and advisory cycles
  • Assess logistics business models, investment opportunities and private-sector participation
  • Lead knowledge work and learning initiatives on logistics and sustainable freight
  • Build partnerships with governments, logistics operators, investors and development partners

Role Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Engineering, Infrastructure Planning or a related field
  • At least eight years of experience in logistics, supply-chain management, freight transportation, logistics infrastructure or related advisory work
  • Experience shaping logistics policy dialogue with country counterparts, senior Bank management and high-level government officials
  • Proven experience advancing private-sector participation and private-capital mobilisation in logistics
  • Excellent communication and representational skills
