Summary of Responsibilities

  • Initiate railway knowledge products, financing approaches and policy solutions
  • Develop railway policy and regulatory options for regional operational teams
  • Set strategic directions and implementation plans for the railways agenda
  • Support quality assurance across lending and advisory project cycles
  • Curate and disseminate lessons from World Bank railway operations
  • Develop technical skills through training and learning programmes
  • Build partnerships and represent the World Bank Group in technical forums
  • Contribute to transport trust-fund resource mobilisation and donor engagement

Role Requirements

  • Master or PhD degree in a relevant field and at least eight years of relevant railways experience
  • Track record in railway policy dialogue and collaboration with country counterparts
  • Strong technical experience delivering complex railway analytical work
  • Operational and development experience in policy and investment lending
  • Excellent communication and representational skills with senior stakeholders
