Job Description

Support UNOPS and the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund’s Capital M initiative to develop catalytic-financing opportunities for menstrual-health markets in India. The home-based specialist maps enterprises and financiers, assesses investment readiness, prioritises pipeline opportunities, develops financing approaches, and prepares recommendations and engagement materials for strategic partners.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess enterprises, financial institutions, investors and strategic partners for catalytic financing
  • Review enterprise development stage, business model, financial performance and investment readiness
  • Map local-currency financiers, blended-finance funds, impact investors and development finance institutions
  • Screen and prioritise pipeline opportunities by impact, feasibility, scalability and financing needs
  • Develop catalytic-financing instruments, structures and partnership models
  • Prepare technical briefs, assessment profiles and strategic recommendations

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in development finance, corporate finance, economics, business administration or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus two additional years of relevant experience may replace an advanced degree
  • At least five years of impact investing, venture capital, development finance, corporate finance or fundraising experience in India
  • Programme financing experience in India
  • Fluent English and Hindi

Desired Criteria

  • Experience financing women’s health, menstrual health, FMCG or related markets
  • Experience engaging local financial institutions, DFIs, impact investors and enterprise accelerators
  • Experience drafting technical briefs, investment profiles or strategic engagement materials
