Job Description

This national UN Volunteer assignment helps IOM strengthen Bangladesh's migration and reintegration service-delivery systems. It updates district coordination arrangements, develops context-specific training and facilitates capacity building for government and community partners, so migration governance, referrals and reintegration support are more coherent, inclusive and sustainable.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review and update terms of reference and standard operating procedures for District Migration Coordination Committees
  • Prepare registration documents for Migration Forums in nine districts
  • Liaise with authorities to secure review, endorsement and finalisation of coordination documents
  • Adapt IOM training modules on migration, reintegration, counselling and gender
  • Develop training plans, facilitator guides and participant handbooks on safe migration and service delivery
  • Facilitate Training of Trainers, workshops and capacity-building sessions for government stakeholders and partners
  • Document training sessions through reports, evaluations, lessons learned and recommendations
  • Integrate gender equality, protection and inclusion into training materials and sessions

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in any discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience in migration, reintegration, governance or development programming
  • English
  • Bengali
  • National of Bangladesh or legal resident authorised to work in Bangladesh

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with government institutions, UN agencies or development partners is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with adult-learning methodologies and participatory training approaches

  • Volunteer assignment via UNV
  • Based at the UNDP Bangladesh Country Office with regular travel in Dhaka and occasional domestic travel
