Job Description

Supports WFP's Amazon-region resilience and livelihoods work by assessing community water and sanitation systems, local governance and service gaps. The role conducts field monitoring, works with indigenous and rural communities and territorial partners, and turns technical findings into practical recommendations that improve safe-water access, climate resilience and sustainable local management.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical liaison with territorial entities to facilitate adaptation and resilience measures
  • Participate in community and territorial technical forums while integrating traditional knowledge
  • Collect, systematize and analyse field information for project monitoring and monthly technical reports
  • Monitor partners' technical and operational performance against standards, schedules and intervention quality
  • Assess water and sanitation systems, infrastructure condition, water availability and service risks in prioritized communities
  • Prepare field reports with findings, early warnings and viable technical recommendations

Role Requirements

  • Completed secondary education
  • At least three years of field experience in rural water and sanitation, community development or environmental management
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Technical, technological or professional training in environmental, sanitary or civil engineering, water resources, environmental management or agricultural sciences
  • Training in community water management, rural sanitation, nature-based solutions or agroecology
  • Ability to work in rural and hard-to-access areas
  • Community facilitation and intercultural-sensitivity skills
