Summary of Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor natural-sciences programme activities
- Evaluate and report work on science, technology, water, basic sciences and disaster-risk management
- Coordinate programme delivery with public authorities, scientific institutions and United Nations partners
- Develop concept notes and project proposals aligned with national priorities
- Mobilise resources for natural-resource and science initiatives
- Build partnerships with government, business, civil society and multilateral funders
- Promote UNESCO's role as a platform for sustainable-development ideas and innovation
