Job Description
Provides legal support on disciplinary cases within the United Nations Secretariat’s internal justice system. The role prepares case recommendations and tribunal submissions, researches administrative-law issues, supports oral proceedings and advises on legal documents so the Disciplinary Section can manage matters consistently, fairly and in a timely manner.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review disciplinary matters and prepare recommendations on their processing
- Prepare submissions for the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and identify matters suitable for informal resolution
- Assist in representing the Secretary-General during oral proceedings
- Draft and review legal documents and correspondence on administrative-law issues
- Conduct legal research and analyse cases and jurisprudence
- Maintain disciplinary-process documentation, databases and registers
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law or a related area, or a first-level degree with additional relevant experience
- Minimum two years of legal experience including national or international litigation, unless eligible through the YPP, NCRE or G to P examination route
- English at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
Desired Criteria
- Experience litigating administrative-law matters
- Experience conducting workplace investigations or handling disciplinary matters in an international organisation
