Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop databases, data collection systems and analytics that improve statistical efficiency and quality
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns using structured and unstructured information
  • Maintain and quality-assure databases, UN INFO and Cooperation Framework results data
  • Develop dashboards and reports that support evidence-based RC and UNCT decision-making
  • Co-design digital tools with national statistical partners to track SDG indicators
  • Build staff and partner capacity on data analytics through training and workshops

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, information management or a related quantitative field
  • A first-level degree with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to quality-assure data analysis outputs
  • English at UN Level II

Desired Criteria

  • Data validation and consistency assessment are desirable
  • Tableau, Power BI, Qlik and R skills are desirable
  • Data analytics experience is desirable
