Job Description
Supports UNDRR's Regional Office for Arab States in Cairo to strengthen national disaster-risk and resilience analytics. The role helps countries use DELTA-Resilience and the Sendai Framework Monitor, improve disaster-loss data and statistical integration, build partner capacity, and maintain reliable data, metadata and reporting products for risk-informed decision-making.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support installation, implementation and operational use of DELTA-Resilience for national resilience analytics
- Assist Sendai Framework Monitor reporting through data compilation, quality checks, validation and liaison with country contributors
- Improve quality, consistency and interoperability of disaster loss and damage data across national systems
- Advance disaggregation of disaster data by sex, age, income, disability and hazard type
- Support technical assistance, training and user support on disaster statistics and reporting tools
- Compile, clean and tabulate disaster-related data and metadata from official sources
- Maintain the DELTA-Resilience portal and verify the accuracy of data, metadata and statistical snapshots
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in data sciences, statistics, economics, disaster risk reduction, information science, computer science, management information systems or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- Experience in data analysis, data sciences, statistics, data monitoring, disaster risk reduction, socio-economic development or a related area
- Experience in disaster risk assessment and monitoring or disaster risk reduction
- English and Arabic at UN Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking
- Be a national of Egypt
Desired Criteria
- Completion of non-degree programmes in data analytics, business analytics or data science
- Experience supporting countries through technical cooperation and capacity development programmes in the United Nations Common System or international organisations
- Experience with data management, analysis and visualisation tools including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI and STATA
