Job Description

Builds and improves the Tunis Resident Coordinator Office’s data systems, analytics and information products to strengthen evidence-based development coordination. The post acquires, cleans and quality-assures data, develops dashboards and reports, supports data science and automation, and builds staff and partner capacity for analysis across development, humanitarian and peace priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop databases, data-collection systems, analytics and quality-control capabilities that improve statistical efficiency
  • Identify data sources and apply statistical methods to analyze structured and unstructured information
  • Acquire, clean and quality-assure data and maintain databases including UN INFO and Cooperation Framework results data
  • Develop dashboards, reports and visualization tools for management across development, humanitarian and peace priorities
  • Design process improvements, automation and scalable data-delivery architecture
  • Build UN personnel and national-partner capacity through data-analytics training and workshops
  • Contribute to data-science products using AI, machine learning and predictive analytics

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, information management, data management, information systems, information science or a related quantitative field; a first-level degree with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, statistics, monitoring and evaluation, research, data management or a related field
  • Experience collecting, cleaning, validating, analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources for evidence-based decision-making
  • Experience using data-analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SQL or similar platforms
  • Experience developing analytical products, dashboards, reports or visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in data quality assurance and validation methodologies
  • English, French and Arabic are required
  • Open to nationals of Tunisia

Desired Criteria

  • Experience supporting development, socio-economic, SDG monitoring and evaluation or public-policy analysis
  • Experience with the United Nations, government institutions, development partners or international organizations
