Job Description

The role provides financial, budgetary and administrative support for WFP offices across the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It monitors expenditure forecasts, cash and advance accounts, verifies supplier claims and receivables, compiles financial and statistical reports, validates records from finance systems and maintains auditable invoice, payment, asset and expense documentation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide procedural and technical finance and budget support in line with WFP rules
  • Monitor monthly expenditure forecasts and prepare expenditure reports for decision-making
  • Review temporary advance and subsidiary accounts to confirm funds are available and properly disbursed
  • Verify supplier claims, advances and receivables and support timely compliant payments
  • Compile budgetary, accounting, financial and statistical reports from multiple sources
  • Retrieve and validate finance-system data and follow up discrepancies and corrective actions
  • Track fixed assets, fuel and vehicle-part expenses and maintain accurate databases
  • Maintain invoice and payment registers and archive supporting records to WFP standards

Role Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school education
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in finance, budgeting or a related field
  • Fluency in spoken and written French
  • Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to apply standard finance procedures and methods with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify data anomalies and follow corrective action

  • Post-secondary certification in finance, administration, economics or a related field
