Supports financial stewardship for WFP operations in Havana by monitoring budgets, forecasting, reporting financial data and maintaining controls over funds. The officer performs reconciliations, disbursements and cash management, contributes to country planning and risk assessments, supervises junior staff and provides management information that enables efficient, accountable delivery of food-assistance programmes.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets and prepare forecasts
- Report financial status and outcomes in line with governance requirements
- Perform bank reconciliations, disbursements and receivables clearance
- Manage cash and monthly financial closures
- Prepare financial, staffing and resource-usage information
- Support improvement of policies, systems and procedures
- Contribute to financial controls and risk assessments
- Guide junior staff and represent the office with financial partners
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in finance, business administration, accounting or related fields, or a first degree with additional related experience and membership of an internationally recognised accountancy body
- Fluency in English and the duty-station language

- Experience managing financial transactions
