Finance Associate

Provides finance support for WFP Pacific programmes funded under the US Government Macro Award, ensuring accurate transactions, donor-compliant controls, financial monitoring, reporting, audit readiness and coordinated financial service delivery across programme and operations teams.

• Provide technical and procedural finance support in line with donor rules and WFP policies
• Develop and implement financial procedures, internal controls and accounting processes
• Monitor cash flow, funding availability and timely disbursement
• Process staff, partner and vendor payments with complete supporting documentation
• Analyse general-ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Compile monthly, quarterly and ad hoc financial reports
• Maintain complete financial records and audit-ready documentation
• Coordinate financial processes with programme, supply chain, technology and partnerships teams
• Support internal and external audits and responses to audit queries
• Build staff and partner capacity in financial management and donor compliance

• Bachelor degree
• At least 6 years of experience in finance, audit, risk management or support to donor-funded programmes
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Understanding of US Government donor compliance requirements
• Ability to manage multiple funding streams and competing deadlines

• A post-secondary certificate in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field is desirable
• Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset
