Job Description

Supports WFP Ecuador's budget and programming function by reviewing project plans, analysing fund balances and financial performance, maintaining accurate corporate data and reports, advising stakeholders and support staff, and improving forecasting, controls and resource use across programmes and supply operations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review project budget plans and analyse financial performance
  • Analyse fund and grant balances and recommend action on surpluses or deficits
  • Support supply-chain oversight and respond to resource interruptions
  • Improve forecasting, budgeting tools, institutional systems and internal processes
  • Enter project budget plans and revisions accurately in corporate systems
  • Compile and analyse data and prepare periodic and special reports
  • Resolve discrepancies with stakeholders and optimise project-fund use
  • Guide support staff on budget planning, fund management and operational planning
  • Apply emergency-preparedness practices to enable rapid resource deployment

Role Requirements

  • Completed higher education in economics, business administration, finance, project planning and management or a related field
  • At least six years of progressively responsible budget preparation, execution and monitoring experience
  • Experience tracking budgets, resource plans, supply chains and resource-allocation systems
  • Experience with international organisations, non-governmental organisations, United Nations entities or internationally funded projects
  • English proficiency at level C
