Job Description

Serves as NATO ACT’s principal financial advisor and executive for international funds, budget and finance. The controller directs financial planning, accounting, procurement oversight and internal controls across ACT headquarters and subordinate commands, represents the command before NATO committees, and ensures accountable execution of funds under NATO financial regulations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Advise ACT commanders on budget and finance matters and accountable fund use
  • Represent ACT before NATO budget, investment and resource-policy committees
  • Direct financial-management operations across ACT headquarters and subordinate commands
  • Develop financial, budgetary, accounting, treasury and procurement policies
  • Oversee procurement activities and support ACT programmes
  • Supervise budget execution, international-fund reporting and interoperable accounting systems

Role Requirements

  • University degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, public administration or a related discipline with ten years of related experience
  • At least fifteen years of budgeting, accounting or financial-management experience including five years in higher managerial positions
  • English SLP 4343
  • NATO SECRET security clearance before confirmation and commencement

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in IPSAS
  • Experience in international business operations
  • Knowledge of military organizations
  • Professional accreditation as a certified public accountant, certified government financial manager or equivalent
  • French SLP 2222
