Job Description
FAO seeks three Veterinary Paraprofessional Business Facilitators in Pretoria to help Animal Health Technicians build primary animal healthcare businesses under South Africa’s Pandemic Fund Project. The facilitators will coach AHTs, monitor business development, report progress, support training cohorts and help strengthen zoonotic disease prevention systems and livestock services.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to AHTs during referrals and help them comply with SAVC rules and regulations
- Organize bi-weekly meetings and activities to follow up AHT business development
- Monitor AHT businesses and report on mentorship, business coaching and business development to FAO
- Follow up the 14 AHTs who received equipment and provide monthly updates on their business set-up and challenges
- Review business plans and profiles, compile work plans, and collect and process AHT business data
- Support development and review of starter-kit and consumable specifications for procurement
- Present AHT starter-kit requirements to planning and procurement committees
- Prepare monthly reports and participate in monthly FAO meetings, live calls and webinars
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Veterinary Science for Consultants; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant professional experience
- University degree or technical degree/certificate in Veterinary Science for PSA
- At least three years of working experience in an animal health discipline
- Working knowledge (C) in English

- Experience working with farmers in communal areas
- Knowledge of key stakeholders in animal health
- Strong project-management skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and use of project-management software
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
