Job Description

Coordinates livestock Farmer Field School activities for FAO’s climate-resilient pastoralism project across three Kenyan clusters. The specialist mobilizes communities, tracks field delivery and monitoring data, supports grants and agreements, procures animal-health inputs, and coordinates training and reporting.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate county-provided personnel across the project's three clusters
  • Track field actions and update implementation and monitoring tools
  • Mobilize participants for Farmer and Pastoral Field School training
  • Maintain beneficiary data in project reporting and Kobo monitoring tools
  • Organize cluster meetings and document decisions and actions
  • Support requests for proposals, letters of agreement and grant delivery
  • Procure animal-health inputs and develop specifications and bid evaluations

Role Requirements

  • University degree in animal health and production
  • At least three years of relevant experience in livestock health or animal production
  • Experience coordinating trainings, workshops and community meetings
  • Working knowledge of English and Kiswahili
  • Kenyan nationality

Desired Criteria

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of gender-, youth- and conflict-sensitive programming
  • Experience with government, the United Nations, international NGOs or development partners
