Job Description

Strengthens vaccine availability and cold-chain performance across the Republic of the Congo. The specialist supports forecasting, stock accountability, logistics information systems, staff capacity and campaign readiness so UNICEF and government partners can reduce stock-outs and use immunisation data effectively.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor vaccine, immunisation-supply and cold-chain equipment availability
  • Support forecasting, quantification, stock redistribution and wastage monitoring
  • Improve cold-chain inventories, maintenance oversight and storage compliance
  • Strengthen LMIS and eLMIS data quality, dashboards and performance analysis
  • Train and mentor vaccine managers, logisticians and sub-national EPI staff
  • Coordinate national stores, health districts, technical partners and EPI working groups
  • Plan vaccine logistics for campaigns, outbreak response and public-health emergencies
  • Produce monthly vaccine-stock, cold-chain and logistics-performance reports

Role Requirements

  • Relevant academic background in public health, pharmacy, health sciences, logistics, supply chain management, management, economics or a related field
  • At least three years of professional experience in vaccine management, health logistics or supply chain management
  • Vaccine and stock-management knowledge
  • Forecasting, quantification and cold-chain-management capability
  • Ability to use logistics information systems, analyse data and report results

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with immunisation or EPI programmes
  • Experience supporting vaccination campaigns and emergency response
  • Experience working with health ministries and technical partners
  • Training in vaccine management, cold-chain management or health logistics
