UNEP Finance Initiative Senior Technical AdvisorNew

UNEP Finance Initiative seeks a home-based senior technical advisor to finalise its biodiversity-finance report card ahead of CBD COP17. The advisor will synthesise evidence on financial-flow alignment and Global Biodiversity Framework targets, coordinate contributors, review nature-themed deliverables and strengthen the programme's engagement with financial institutions, regulators and public-finance actors.

• Compile and finalise the finance-sector biodiversity report card
• Review UNEP FI and partner publications, milestones and data
• Synthesize evidence against Roadmap areas and Global Biodiversity Framework targets
• Analyse GBFF and Cali Fund finance evidence
• Coordinate inputs from internal colleagues and external partners
• Provide senior technical review of nature-themed deliverables
• Support report-card use at Finance and Biodiversity Day

• Master's degree in finance, economics, environmental economics, sustainability, environmental science, public policy, international relations or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience
• At least 7 years of professional experience in sustainable finance, biodiversity or nature finance
• Track record producing analytical publications on nature and finance
• Experience advising on or applying nature-related frameworks and the Global Biodiversity Framework
• Fluency in English

• Experience supporting UNEP FI nature workstreams
• Familiarity with Finance and Biodiversity Day and CBD COP processes
• Knowledge of biodiversity finance mechanisms including GBFF and the Cali Fund
