Job Description
Provides sign-language interpretation for UN Women Indonesia activities and events. The retainer consultant delivers accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation across in-person, virtual and hybrid formats; ensures accessibility for Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants; conducts technical checks; coordinates event settings; and protects confidentiality of discussions and documents.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Interpret UN Women programme activities and events in person, virtually and in hybrid formats
- Ensure accurate, complete and impartial interpretation
- Convey meaning, tone, intent and context without distortion
- Conduct technical checks for virtual events
- Coordinate accessibility settings with event organisers
- Ensure confidentiality of discussions and documents
Role Requirements
- Secondary education with 6 years of professional sign-language interpretation experience, or bachelor’s degree with 3 years
- Advanced proficiency in Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO and/or SIBI)
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian Sign Language
