Job Description

UN Women seeks a national consultant to develop an Iraqi guideline that mainstreams women’s affairs in sectoral and local policies and plans. The home-based assignment works with institutions to produce actionable guidance, facilitate consultations and submit Arabic deliverables with English summaries. It supports policy integration, validation and government endorsement of women’s priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Co-develop and finalize the national guideline with government partners
  • Provide actionable guidance for integrating women affairs into sectoral and local plans
  • Facilitate technical meetings and consultations with relevant institutions
  • Prepare Arabic deliverables with accompanying English summaries
  • Support validation and endorsement of deliverables by UN Women and government partners
  • Develop practical policy documents and guidance tools

Role Requirements

  • Master degree in women affairs, public policy, development studies, law, economics or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in policy analysis, mainstreaming women affairs, policy design or development programming
  • Experience developing policy guidelines or government-facing documents
  • Fluency in Arabic and English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience applying economic analysis to women issues and policy design
  • Experience with Iraqi government institutions and national planning processes
