Job Description

Provides finance and administrative support to UNDP's TICAD Unit in the Regional Bureau for Africa. The analyst monitors Japan-funded project resources and reporting, manages the TICAD Process Promotion Support Fund, coordinates travel, procurement and assets, and consolidates lessons and communications that strengthen delivery, financial integrity and partnerships for African development.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review Japan-funded project formulation and monitor fund transfers, delivery and financial reporting
  • Monitor project revisions, no-cost extensions and operational or financial closure
  • Prepare annual financial reporting and manage TICAD Process Promotion Support Fund resources
  • Process budgets, requisitions, vouchers and purchase orders and monitor financial integrity
  • Coordinate travel, workshops, conferences, assets, office supplies and administrative services
  • Plan capacity-building sessions and consolidate lessons and communications on Japan-funded projects

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Internal eligibility at Tier 0, 1 or 2

Desired Criteria

  • Experience providing financial management and oversight assistance
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience with web-based management systems and ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Experience with IPSAS or IFRS
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships with development partners
  • Working experience with the UN

Additional Information

  • The position reports to the TICAD Programme Specialist under the RBA TICAD Programme Advisor
  • The vacancy is open only to Tier 0, 1 and 2 UNDP, UNCDF or UNV applicants
  • Candidates with accountancy or finance degrees without professional qualifications must complete UNDP's Finance Training and Certification Programme if recruited
