Job Description

Supports the daily administration, finance and operations of UNDP justice and rule-of-law projects in Algeria. The role manages budgets, payments, procurement, records, logistics and partner coordination while helping integrate gender equality, project assurance and knowledge sharing.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Track project implementation, workplans, results and periodic progress reporting
  • Maintain administrative correspondence, records and logistics for meetings, training and events
  • Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure, commitments, fund availability and financial anomalies
  • Verify payments, supporting documentation, cash advances and compliance with UNDP procedures
  • Prepare procurement documents and coordinate suppliers, contracts and project logistics
  • Coordinate steering committees, partners and follow-up on project decisions
  • Support project closure, asset transfer, final reviews and partner documentation
  • Integrate gender equality, project assurance, risk control and knowledge sharing into delivery

Role Requirements

  • Eligibility under UNDP application tiers 1 or 2
  • Secondary school diploma with seven years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree with four years
  • Experience in administration, finance, procurement, accounting or a related field
  • Excellent command of Windows systems and Microsoft Office
  • Proven project administration and financial-management experience
  • Ability to execute and control financial transactions and budgets
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and comply with organisational reporting requirements
  • Fluency in French and Arabic

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge and experience in gender issues
  • Experience supporting development projects
  • Prior experience with UNDP, the UN system or international institutions
  • Experience with internationally funded projects, development organisations or NGOs
  • Strong finance and administration experience with competing priorities
