Job Description

WHO seeks a Technical Officer in Kyiv to coordinate gender, equity, human-rights and gender-based-violence integration across Ukraine health priorities. The six-month professional post adapts guidance, develops workplans, analyses disaggregated data, supports health-service integration and capacity building, coordinates reporting, and contributes to partnership and resource-mobilization efforts.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate gender, equity, human-rights and gender-based-violence work with national and international partners
  • Adapt GER and GBV guidelines, materials and tools to Ukraine’s context
  • Develop GER and GBV mainstreaming workplans and integrate approaches into programme workplans
  • Analyse disaggregated data, gender analysis and GBV risk assessments
  • Support integration of GBV prevention and response into essential health services
  • Develop capacity-building training and prepare reports, mission follow-up and resource-mobilization inputs

Role Requirements

  • First-level university degree in communication, social policy, healthcare, health policy, public management, economics, demography, public health or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience in health or social sectors including public-sector experience
  • Ability to write reports, review policies and analyse policy documents
  • General knowledge of gender equality, gender-based violence prevention and response, human rights and health-equity approaches
  • Expert knowledge of English and Ukrainian

Desired Criteria

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable
  • International-institution or WHO experience in GBV, GER, health systems or service delivery is desirable
  • Intermediate knowledge of another UN language is desirable
  • Only nationals of Ukraine are eligible
