Job Description
WFP seeks two programme interns to improve preservation and processing of vegetable products in Mauritania. Based in Sélibabi and Kiffa, the internship supports post-harvest assessments, cooperative training, food-safety practices, data collection and documentation. Candidates must be students or recent graduates in food technology or a related field, fluent in French and able to travel.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assess post-harvest losses at vegetable-production sites
- Support cooperatives producing and preserving vegetable products
- Promote food-hygiene and safety practices
- Deliver practical processing and preservation demonstrations
- Collect and analyze programme activity data
- Document mission results and good practices
Role Requirements
- Student or recent graduate in food technology, food science and technology, food-process engineering, food preservation, agronomy or a related field
- Bachelor’s student with at least two completed years, master’s student or graduate within six months
- Fluency in French
- Ability to travel and work at the internship duty station
Desired Criteria
- Academic or practical food-processing experience
- Experience with rural cooperatives
- Knowledge of Guidimakha vegetable-production systems
- English language skills
