The Middle East and North Africa Specialist supports the World Economic Forum's Centre for Energy and Materials in Geneva. The role delivers regional energy and industrial-transition projects; coordinates research, consultations and events; supports the Saudi Arabia Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and manages partner engagement and communications across emerging markets.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Deliver energy, industrial and materials-related projects focused initially on the Middle East and North Africa
  • Support the Saudi Arabia Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution through advisory and project management
  • Coordinate stakeholder consultations, analysis and desktop research and turn insights into briefings, reports and session structures
  • Identify and engage stakeholders for Centre programming and events
  • Manage partner retention and acquisition using Tableau and Salesforce
  • Provide regional analysis, calendar and communications coordination for the Emerging Markets Deployment Team

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in energy, environmental sciences, sustainable development, international relations, public policy or a related field
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience in multi-stakeholder contexts
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to engage senior-level stakeholders independently

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with Middle East energy, industrial and materials-transition topics
  • Understanding of local policy contexts, business etiquette and dynamics
  • Experience addressing energy or industrial transformation challenges in emerging markets
  • Experience leading complex multi-stakeholder Middle East projects
  • Arabic language skills
