This national UN Volunteer assignment strengthens financial management for UNFPA support to Benin's primary health-care agency. The role keeps project accounts, expenditure controls, budget monitoring and periodic reporting dependable, while helping agency staff apply UNFPA procedures, secure supporting documentation, manage reconciliations and maintain complete audit-ready records.

• Maintain accounting journals, record financial transactions and prepare bank reconciliations for support funds
• Verify the accuracy, validity and completeness of expenditure documentation before payment, reimbursement or liquidation
• Monitor activity budgets, analyse variances and recommend appropriate budget adjustments
• Consolidate periodic financial reports in line with UNFPA rules and deadlines
• Organise and archive accounting records to facilitate internal, external and HACT audits
• Build ANSSP technical and financial staff capacity to apply UNFPA financial procedures

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and financial management of development projects and programmes
• Background in accounting, financial management, audit or economics
• French

• Previous experience with a UN agency, international NGO or public-health-sector support projects is a major asset
• Proficiency with accounting-management tools is an asset
