Job Description
Develops and maintains software for optics measurement and correction in CERN accelerators, improving modelling, analysis and commissioning workflows for the High-Luminosity LHC. The role creates automation, graphical interfaces and control-centre tools that support safe, reliable beam operation.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain and extend the optics measurement and correction framework used in LHC commissioning and operation
- Develop software that improves optics measurement and correction capability
- Update accelerator-model creation and correction algorithms for new simulation tools
- Automate measurement and analysis workflows where viable
- Create graphical interfaces and analysis tools for the CERN Control Centre
- Participate in optics measurements and analyse accelerator data
Role Requirements
- Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, subject to the published nationality ceilings
- Master's degree in physics or software engineering with two to six years of professional experience, or a PhD with no more than three years of experience
- Programming and software-design background with Python experience
- Experience developing graphical user interfaces
- Experience with version control and collaborative development workflows
- Spoken and written English or French
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
- Availability for night, Sunday and official-holiday work when required
