Job Description

Maintains accurate financial records and transactions for UNHCR Global Shared Services, supporting reporting, budget control, reconciliations and ERP improvements. The role works with colleagues and banks to provide reliable finance operations, internal controls and responsive client service.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for assigned accounts
  • Record receipts, invoices and payments and verify calculations and supporting documents
  • Monitor allotments and prepare recurring and special account reports
  • Compile cost estimates and projected budget requirements
  • Liaise with banks, colleagues and stakeholders to resolve financial queries
  • Test ERP updates and train new colleagues on finance procedures
  • Identify process improvements and manage finance risks

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma with two years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree or equivalent with one year of relevant experience
  • Practical experience maintaining financial records and processing financial transactions
  • Experience with financial modules of a major Enterprise Resource Planning system such as Oracle or SAP
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or similar analytical or reporting tools
  • English proficiency at a minimum B2 level
  • Legal presence and right to work in Hungary at the time of recruitment

  • Experience in an international or shared-service environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in financial recording, reconciliation and reporting
  • Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Knowledge of financial workflows, internal controls and accounting standards
  • Client-service and interpersonal skills for multicultural stakeholder liaison
  • Capacity to improve processes and support ERP testing and updates
