Job Description
Supports UNHCR’s Global Shared Services finance operations by recording and reconciling transactions, maintaining accurate account records, preparing budgets and reports, assisting staff on financial procedures, and testing ERP improvements that strengthen controls and service quality.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with financial policies
- Record receipts, invoices and payments and verify calculations and supporting documents
- Monitor allotments and reconcile account balances, expenditures and receipts
- Prepare recurring account reports, special reports, cost estimates and budget statements
- Liaise with staff and banks to resolve account, payment and transaction queries
- Brief and train colleagues on financial procedures, reporting and ERP use
- Identify process improvements and support testing of ERP changes and updates
- Escalate financial discrepancies, risks and control concerns to the appropriate supervisor
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least one year of relevant experience, or High School Diploma with at least two years of relevant experience
- Practical experience maintaining financial records and processing financial transactions
- Experience using financial modules of a major ERP system such as Oracle or SAP
- Experience with Excel or a comparable analytical or reporting tool
- Strong organisational and communication skills in a multicultural team environment
- English at B2 level or higher
- Legal presence in Hungary and authorisation to work there at recruitment

- Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies and escalate complex issues
- Knowledge of financial record-keeping workflows, internal controls and accounting standards
- Client-service and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff and external stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to process improvements and support ERP testing or updates
