Job Description

Co-develops and co-facilitates a four-day UNFPA training in Astana that strengthens family-planning service delivery and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception skills. The national consultant supports curriculum and materials, leads practical clinical learning and helps health providers apply evidence-based counselling, decision-making and LARC methods in Kazakhstan.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Facilitator to tailor training modules and clinical materials
  • Assist with finalizing training tools and participant handouts
  • Co-facilitate the four-day in-person workshop in Astana
  • Lead small-group practical exercises and clinical case analysis
  • Provide hands-on guidance during LARC skill-building sessions

Role Requirements

  • Advanced medical degree in obstetrics and gynecology and at least a Master degree or higher
  • At least 10 years of clinical practice as an obstetrician-gynecologist
  • Practical experience performing LARC procedures and contraceptive counselling
  • At least 5 years of experience conducting clinical trainings, seminars or workshops
  • Fluency in written and spoken Russian

Desired Criteria

  • Direct involvement in national clinical protocols, curricula, guidelines or methodological manuals
  • Experience with interactive adult learning, simulation exercises or practical skill-building workshops
  • Familiarity with OSCE evaluation methods and clinical case-based learning
  • Knowledge of international family-planning standards and Kazakhstan healthcare delivery structures
  • Working knowledge of Kazakh or English
