Resident Advisor in Public Financial Management - Mauritania
Job Description
Provides IMF capacity-development support to Mauritania’s Ministry of Finance on macro-fiscal forecasting, modelling, risk analysis and policy. The resident advisor trains the Macro-Fiscal Unit, strengthens integration of analysis into budget preparation and reporting, coordinates short-term experts and partners, and works with headquarters to deliver practical public-finance improvements.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support and training in macro-fiscal forecasting and modelling
- Strengthen fiscal risk analysis and integration into budget preparation
- Support improvements in macro-fiscal reporting and communication
- Identify capacity-development needs with Macro-Fiscal Unit staff
- Coordinate complementary activities delivered by short-term experts
- Coordinate with development partners in Mauritania
Role Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent, preferably in economics or finance
- At least four years of relevant professional experience
- Strong macro-fiscal forecasting, modelling and analysis expertise
- Strong oral and written French communication skills
Desired Criteria
- At least ten years of practical experience delivering capacity development or macro-fiscal analysis in finance ministries, central banks or international institutions
