Job Description

Leads regional risk and compliance support for IOM country offices across the Middle East and North Africa, embedding risk management, internal controls and due diligence into operations and decision-making. The officer monitors reputational and fiduciary risk, maintains the regional risk register, supports fraud-risk treatment and strengthens governance, escalation and oversight processes.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Integrate risk management with regional compliance, internal-control and due-diligence processes
  • Lead risk-management integration in regional and country-office decision-making
  • Advise regional and country-office units on Institutional Compliance Frameworks
  • Monitor reputational and fiduciary risk assessments in strategic planning
  • Develop fraud-risk treatment plans through assessments of allegations and root causes
  • Maintain the regional risk register and ensure country offices assess and manage risks
  • Report key risks and control matters to Institutional Risk Division headquarters
  • Track oversight recommendations and connect them to planning, reporting and management exercises

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Business Administration or a related field with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a university degree with at least nine years
  • Experience in risk management, risk mitigation, crisis management or corporate governance
  • Fluency in English, oral and written

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in non-OECD countries on humanitarian and development programmes
  • Experience in international, inter-governmental, non-governmental, United Nations or government organizations
  • Experience designing and implementing capacity-building or change-management initiatives
