Job Description

Supports UNDP Sri Lanka’s Climate and Environment Team to deliver its development portfolio. The associate manages project finance, coordinates partners, meetings and field activities, supports work planning and implementation, and contributes to capacity building and knowledge sharing. The role ensures timely, compliant reporting and operational coordination across climate initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support project accounting, payments, advances and donor reporting
  • Monitor spending, forecasts, budgets and financial controls
  • Coordinate project boards, meetings, missions and logistical arrangements
  • Support work plans, procurement plans and implementation follow-up
  • Organise capacity-building activities and share data, lessons and good practice

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience supporting development projects
  • Experience in project financial management, budgeting, expenditure monitoring, reporting, forecasting and audit coordination
  • Fluency in English and Sinhala or Tamil

Desired Criteria

  • Experience using Quantum ERP and corporate financial management systems
  • Experience managing projects funded by GEF, GCF, Adaptation Fund, European Union or other donors
  • Experience using Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Experience coordinating audits, due diligence and partner assessments
