Provides strategic leadership for UNDP Bangladesh’s programme portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery, partnerships and results across democratic governance, resilience and inclusive growth. The manager directs programme planning and oversight, supervises teams and resources, builds senior government and donor relationships, and advances inclusive climate action.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic programme planning and quality assurance across portfolio interventions
  • Supervise teams, resources and delivery performance
  • Maintain senior relationships with government, donors and development partners
  • Guide results, risk and financial oversight for programmes and projects
  • Advance climate-responsive, inclusive and locally led development approaches
  • Mobilise partnerships and financing for scalable interventions
  • Provide analytical communications for senior government, donor and Board audiences

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, or a first-level degree with additional qualifying experience
  • Senior experience in programme and project management and development delivery
  • Experience across climate change, governance, sustainable energy or crisis recovery
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Fluency in English and Bengali

Desired Criteria

  • Strategic partnerships across government, private sector and civil society
  • Resource mobilisation or co-financing experience
  • Bangladesh development-context experience
  • Innovation or digital-solution experience
  • Gender equality, disability and social inclusion mainstreaming
  • Project-management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2
