Job Description

Supports UNDP Sri Lanka’s Climate and Environment Team in delivering its programme portfolio. The associate supports project management, policy research, resource mobilisation, partnerships, monitoring and communications, while coordinating teams, government counterparts and development partners. The post helps maintain compliant, timely implementation of climate and environment initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project teams, partners, meetings, missions and portfolio submissions
  • Support work plans, procurement plans, budgets and project implementation
  • Research climate and environment policy, data and emerging practice
  • Support donor engagement, concept notes and project proposals
  • Monitor results, prepare reports and contribute to communications and knowledge products

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project support, administration or management
  • Experience providing administrative, financial and operational support to development projects
  • Fluency in English and Sinhala or Tamil

Desired Criteria

  • Experience supporting climate, environment, disaster risk reduction or sustainable energy projects
  • Experience with UNDP, UN system, POPP, HACT and audit requirements
  • Familiarity with Social and Environmental Standards and gender mainstreaming
  • Experience in research, knowledge management or communications
